Albuminuria can be tested in several ways7:
UACR or SPOT URINE TEST
Measures both albumin and creatinine (a chemical by-product of normal muscle activity) in a one-time sample
URINE DIPSTICK TEST
Test strip turns a different color based on the amount of albumin in the sample
24-HOUR URINE SAMPLE
Lab evaluates total albumin amount based on 24-hour urine collection
Regular testing for albuminuria is critical to help preserve CV and kidney health6
